Abstract

This activity, “Negotiating with China,” simulates the process of trade negotiations in the context of regional security tensions. You will assume the role of Assistant United States Trade Representative to China, tasked with negotiating an agreement on currency valuation. In this capacity, you will

  1. Issue a statement to the press outlining the US position
  2. Negotiate with China on currency and trade issues
  3. Defuse a rapid escalation of military tensions in the region
