Conclusion

Thank you for playing “Building the USS Relief.” We hope you have enjoyed the simulation, but specifically, we hope you now feel more comfortable at:

  • articulating the effects of the iron triangle—the relationships among lawmakers, interest groups, bureaucratic agencies and personnel, and other stakeholders—on the policy process;
  • understanding and describing the role of the bureaucracy in key stages in the policy process, including agenda setting, policy formulation, and policy implementation; and
  • understanding the importance of lobbying in proposing, securing, and implementing government-funded projects.

From here, your instructor may encourage you to take a brief quiz. We also hope you will continue to learn more about the US bureaucracy, interest groups, issue networks, and the iron triangle.
